HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR PRAYER HAS BEEN ANSWERED
Why is the prayer of a sinner an abomination if we all are sinners before God? The Bible does not categorise everyone as a sinner. The person who in quote is called a sinner before God is anyone who falls into any of these categories: a person who sins willfully against God; a person who does not confess his sins whenever he falls; and anybody who by his or her standard has declared himself righteous—you what I mean, the hypocrites. (READ Hebrews 10:26, and Matthew 5:20). If you confess your sins any time you sin against God and you are remorseful, the account will be wiped out by the blood of Jesus. (READ 1 John 1:7-9). But if a man says he has no sin, he is a liar. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (See Romans 3:23, and Psalm 14:3). Sin is a hindrance to prayers because those who practice iniquity shall not have fellowship with God. (See Isaiah 59:1-2, and Psalm 24:4).
Before your prayer will be answered you don’t need to cough out blood. Prayer works through the office of mercy. The persons whose prayers are attended to by God are those who first acknowledge that they are sinners and that they have to make peace with God before they tender a prayer request. But if a man does not care about his relationship with God and wants God to grant his request then you are joking. The person praying must have the mercy of God and his or her prayers must obtain divine mercy before it can be passed. (See Psalm 66:20). If you take God for granted you will face his wrath. It is written, who shall ascend unto the hills of the Lord or who shall stand in His holy place? He has clean hands and a pure heart. Jesus paid the price of sins but willful sin can still cost a man his soul. If we confess our sins he is faithful and just cleanse us of our unrighteousness. Blessed is the man that sits not in the counsel of the ungodly but whose delight is in the laws of God, and His laws he meditates day and night. (See Psalm 1:1-3, 1 Peter 1:14-16, and Philippians 2:13).
There are acts of faith that bring the mercy of God into our lives. These acts have been trampled upon by the preachers of the new church movement. If you take what belongs to someone, and you go to God for mercy whereas you are still holding the person’s goods, you will not obtain mercy. If you want mercy for stealing and you are still in possession of the missing item, you have to return the stolen goods and then go to God for mercy. Some people offend their spouse and go to God for mercy, ohh, it doesn’t work like that! If you offend your neighbour and you are asking God to forgive you, it won’t work. You have to first ask the person for forgiveness then when he or she forgives you, you can then go to God. But if he refuses to forgive you, God will forgive you. Why do some people break the laws of God and say God understands? You are simply deceiving yourself. It is written, do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked, whatever a person sows that is what he will reap. (See Galatians 6:7, and Romans 10:1-3). Every unrighteousness is a sin. God does not work with a double standard. It’s either you fear Him and keep His commandment or you make yourself a slave of sin. (See Romans 6:16, Acts 17:30, and Romans 1:21-27).
If you use a basket to fetch water you will have none. God said, come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy. Prayers work through the seat of mercy. If you don’t have the mercy of God in your life your prayer will not pass your roof. There are three signs you will get to know if your prayers have been answered: the first sign is peace of mind, (See Philippians 4:6-7), secondly, if your prayer has been answered, the Lord will send you a word through your fellow human, or His prophet. He can also speak to you directly in your heart or a dream; the third way to know that your prayer has been answered is the physical transformations you will start getting. For instance, if you are asking God for financial mercies (to break free from debts), when God answers the prayer, you will start receiving financial favour. It may not come in huge amounts but at least you will see a change. And you will have peace of mind. (READ Psalm 107:20, and Jonah 2:10).
We go to pastors and prophets for prayer not because God will not hear us when we pray to Him directly. But we believe that servants of God have more of God’s grace and mercy in their lives (that is for true servants of God), and as such when they pray for us God will not reject their request. But whether a minister of God is praying for you or you are praying for yourself, you need the mercy of God to receive the answers. So, go and make peace with God. Brethren, it gives me great joy to intercede for people, I have a passion for it. And by His grace, every matter I present before God always receives an answer. If you have been praying about a thing and feel frustrated you have to contact me or meet me one-on-one, and God will answer you by His grace upon my life. Nonetheless, if you want to know what God is saying about the delay to the answers of your prayers, I can inquire for you, and tell you what the Spirit is saying. How do we tackle the water crisis?
We work with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where we work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point we fund, our partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.
